Communicator Certificate Program

Communications Policy and Resource Trainings

The Department of University Communications and Marketing (UCM) offers flexible training options to help educate the Rutgers community about policies, guidelines, processes and resources related to communications and marketing at the university.

NEW! Self-Guided Virtual Brand Training

UCM has developed a set of virtual, asynchronous training modules to allow participants to learn about the university's communications policies and best practices at their own pace. You have the option to view one specific training module or explore them all.  To see the training modules available, enroll in the Rutgers Communications Policies and Guidelines course on Canvas.

The Communicator Certificate Program

The Communicator Certificate Program, offered by UCM in conjunction with University Human Resources, provides participants with a thorough exploration of the Rutgers identity, communications-related policies and resources available at the university. All faculty and staff (especially, new employees) are invited to enroll in these free classes. To earn the certificate, participants must take these two courses:

  • RPE901-Understanding the Rutgers University Brand & Identity, and
  • RPE902-Communication Policies, Guidelines, and Resources.

Courses are held in the spring and fall semester. To register or to be placed on the waiting list, please visit the Learning and Development website, click on x-Certificate Programs, and select RPE900-Communicator Certificate Program.

Department workshop

UCM will present to your department a free, 90-minute training session tailored for your team. This training will introduce communications-related policies and processes along with useful communications resources.

For questions about these training options  or to schedule a session for your unit, email UCM: contactus@ucm.rutgers.edu.
